Isaiah 45-51

I’m reading through Isaiah this morning. I started in chapter 45, and couldn’t stop until chapter 51. It’s so rich, so full of the assurance that the LORD of Hosts will bring to pass what He decrees. It’s rich with His prophecy that all of His righteous demands and covenant blessings are met in His Servant, the Promised Messiah. It’s overwhelming, awe inspiring and comforting… rest for my soul.

“I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee (King Cyrus), though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord , and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil (calamity): I the Lord do all these things.” (Isaiah 45:5-7 KJV)

“I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;” (Isaiah 51:12 KJV)
