Bread of Life

Lord Jesus, you are my Bread of Life. I do not labor for food that perishes; instead I conduct my affairs at your direction. Every task completed for someone is you meeting a need for a person who was created in your image. Each one is special to you. I live to bless everyone I meet in your name.

My Savior, the Father has brought me to you, and you will never let me go. You are my “right now,” present tense, eternal life. I feast on you in such intimacy within my soul that it looks unreal, offensive and disgusting to many. It draws criticism or pity from those who only see reality within the limited confines of their five senses.

Holy Spirit, you are the intimacy of the Living God within my soul. Open my heart more every day to feast on the life that was purchased for me. Increase my hunger, Lord Jesus, and satisfy me in ways I cannot yet imagine.

“Labor not for the food which perishes, but for that food which endures unto everlasting life.”

“And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life; he that comes to me shall never hunger.”

“And this is the Father’s will who sent me, that of all which he has given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.”

“And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which sees the Son, and believes on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.”

“Then Jesus said unto them, Truly, truly, I say unto you, Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you have no life in you.”

“Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is a hard saying; who can hear it? When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said to them, Does this offend you? What and if you shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? It is the spirit that gives life; the flesh profits  nothing: the words that I speak to you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
