God’s grace is a safe harbor

God’s grace is “not a shelter for the presumptuous, but… a harbor for the truly humbled soul to put himself into.” ~Richard Sibbes

To the soul which knows its desperate state… the soul which recognizes its need of grace… there can never be too much grace.

To the presumptuous soul, even the Law is not enough to break its self-rule.

Law or grace, it matters not to the presumptuous… both will be misused in their efforts to be their own god.

Do not withhold grace from the hungry out of fear of the presumptuous.
